.all in a day’s work.

.so i did some sewing today, not on anything i should have been sewing. .but sewing none the less. .i had to use up my adorable owls for this sweet baby blanket. .thinking of using my scraps to make up some cute little burp cloths. .but that has to wait, i have quilts to sew still. .anyway, here are a few shots of the latest blankie, held up courtesy of my little sis.

.so here as some pictures of the last quilt i finished…along with some pictures of the latest fabric purchase for a sweet swaddling blanket i plan on making soon. .first, i must finish my quilt that i promised to a past co-worker. .then on to a new quilt for a friend from highschool. .it seems my name may actually be getting out there. .hoping this sticks. .i mainly have my sister to thank, couldn’t get my name out there without my rockin’ awesome quilt tags she made me. (.she may or may not be trying to start her own silk screening business in the near future…keep her in mind.) .so enough rambling, here are the pictures.

.so today i hope to finish a large amount of the current quilt i’m working on, maybe even get it basted together and ready to start quilting. .trying to finish one thing before i move on to another, not doing a great job of it though. .happy sewing.

.more time.

.i promise i really do sew. .i wish i had more time, but with work, raising a three year old, and being a wife, sewing is kinda sporadic. .when i do sew, i sew in mass amounts. .just finished another baby quilt that isn’t designated to any special baby yet. .just started another quilt, i’m doing the piecing and quilting, a friend did the cross stitching for each of the quilt blocks. .new pictures to come.

.too many ideas.

.more than my addiction to quilt, is the addiction i have to reading other quilt blogs and coming up with new ideas for new quilts. .it is a huge problem. :) .i’ve been saving quilt ideas to my computer, the folder i have saved in my pictures is growing at a rapid rate, much faster than i can actually make these quilts. .haven’t sewed in a week, hoping to get some sewing in this weekend. .will update with new projects asap.

.today i went through my 3500+ pictures and found all the pictures i had of past sewing projects, minus three that weren’t photographed. .i’ve uploaded them all to my finished projects tab. .includes two new quilts that i finished this weekend with the help of my Maw-Maw. .got some awesome red and blue binding to finish out a patriotic baby quilt-came from my Great-Grandmother’s sewing stash. :) .look. .enjoy. .note to self, i take entirely too many pictures.

.my new blog.

.i have been reading lots of blogs about quilting, and since i am a quilting ‘nerd’ according to my sister and husband, i figured i’d add to my nerdiness and start my own quilting blog. .i started quilting five years ago, and am hoping to start selling my quilts soon. .while they aren’t professional grade, they are handmade and each one is special to me. .i usually just give my quilts as baby shower/wedding shower gifts, but hope others love my quilts as much as i do and want to purchase them for their own gift-giving reasons. .aside from beginning to sell them, i am beginning to practice free-motion quilting. .i haven’t been brave enough to work on any of my quilts with the free-motion stitching yet, still just using my walking foot. .practicing on burp cloths and old scrap material before i attempt a baby quilt. .here are a few of the quilts i have recently sewn, planning to sew a lot this winter. :)
